This document is a monthly monitoring report produced by Media Intelligence (MI Group), a Cameroonian business intelligence firm, focusing on the sports betting sector in Cameroon for April 2026. It is a confidential report intended for subscribers, structured in two main sections: media monitoring (TV, Radio, OOH) and digital monitoring (social media and web).

Structurally, the 44-page document follows a classic competitive analysis format: context, objectives, management summary, and then in-depth thematic analysis.

The media section analyzes bookmakers' advertising investments, estimated at 91,041,500 FCFA (excluding VAT) for the month. The top three are 1XBET (27.9M), PMUC (21.8M), and the new entrant BETSSON (20.5M). The report analyzes each player's media mix: 1XBET relies on aggressive multi-channel pressure (TV via CRTV, radio via Sweet FM, and billboards), PMUC prioritizes radio advertising and crawling on Canal 2 in the absence of OOH campaigns, and BETSSON achieves a lightning-fast launch via premium media. A section also covers the regulatory framework (2015 law, 2019 decree, MINAT/MINFI oversight), operator licenses, and a comparison of welcome bonuses (200% having become the norm). This section concludes with a gallery of OOH visuals.

The digital section analyzes the presence of 9 to 15 operators on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and LinkedIn. Key findings: PMUC and 1xBet dominate in terms of community size, but MELBET, Betwinner, 22Bet, and BetAndYou are the most aggressive in conversion through a YouTube affiliate model. The report identifies YouTube as the only truly measurable and highest-performing platform, highlights promo codes as the key driver, and reveals the "invisible" closing role of WhatsApp/Telegram. It segments the market into three profiles (aggressive international players, developing local players, and players focused on building brand awareness) and concludes with risks (lax regulations on responsible gambling, over-reliance on promo codes) and strategic lessons learned.
